What am I doing and why

Today is the first time for me as a blogger. As stated in my description of this blog I am going to talk about why I'm doing this and how it's going. So without more garble here it is:
I'm currently unemployed (self-employed I.T. Consultant) because the company I was at for over 11 years eliminated my position. I was totally blind sided by this and was not prepared as I should have been. I didn't expect this after putting my heart and sole into this company by working 80-90 hours a week for the first 3 years of employment. I put my marriage in jeopardy, missed things with my kids and was totally engulfed in my job. I was working under the premise that hard work and loyalty will pay off in the end, boy was a mistaken!! As manager, then director, then manager again of a department (that's a story within itself), I contributed to the advancement of the company not only in technological gains but customer service, production and sales. That's the short version, if anyone is interested in the complete version let me know.

What I am doing is trying to supplement a consulting business, that makes maybe $100 a week, enough to allow me to continue to do it and still pay the bills. I've been trying to find something I can do from home that will allow me to continue my life style but potentially allow for some finer things in life... pay for kids college, better vacations, financial freedom/security and spend more time with family and friends all while being my own boss. I came across Angel Stevens and her program to become a Rebate Affiliate Processor. So I'm starting out hoping that it will allow me to reach my goals.
